Went today on foot from Putignano, cave was closed. A lady there told me that it usually opens on Christmas and in some weekdays. It wouldn't hurt to update the schedule...
Amazing cave with an ancient church

Nice place to visit
We were lucky enough to be in the area and able to visit Chiesa San Michele Arcangelo today. Found out by chance that it is open every Sunday. Nice atmosphere, a good experience to be there! I would love to be there once there is a mass too❤️Thank you volunteers for keeping the cave church open every Sunday and for the friendly reception!
Found by chance on our route, and indeed we were all amazed by finding this cave. I can say that it is the twin of the one in Monte Sant'Angelo. There is the same atmosphere, very intimate and suggestive. I'm only sorry because it is not valued as it is not very suitable, only for a few. It can only be visited on Sunday mornings
Enchanting and unique place of its kind presenting various stalagmites and stalactites inside the cave (some of which are truly enchanting).
The gentlemen of the Pro Loco (volunteers) who take care of it are truly humble people and very close to this place. If it weren't for them, all this would probably fall into decline (as has already happened in the past).
